First experience in chain-sawing…

As usual, weekends equal noodles…
This rice vermicelli was with chicken breast meat, mushrooms, carrots, bean sprouts, green onions, among other goodies…

Bought a pair of safety boots with ‘toe guard’…
Don’t wish to have my toes accidentally cut when using the chain saw…

Similarly, got hold of a sturdy, safety helmet…
Don’t plan to have my head knocked by a falling tree when chain-sawing…

First experience ever, using a chain saw to cut logs…
Fully (almost) equipped with helmet, goggles, multiple layered clothes, leather gloves, safety boots…
Had a neighbor giving me private lessons a day before on how to start the engine, how to engage the saw, and how to stop the engine…
He even taught me know to dismantle the chain for cleaning after use… what a guy…

  1. What a good neighbour you have! Your bowl of noodles looks delicious! I know that I am new to your blog, but I really like your space here. I've extended an award for you, would be happy if you could accept it. Come over to pick it up when you can, when you are not busy with your chain-sawing… ! ^..^ Thank you!

  2. KF… when we bought this house, we felt like we were in 'cloud nine' by just looking at the natural green around and the nearness to the sea… then, when we started getting to know the neighbors, we became increasingly convinced that we might have bumped into 'paradise'… we have been here for five years, and the enthusiasm, the excitement of living here has not subsided… a major, major part of all these is due to my wife Y, for sure… but an award? This is absolutely new to me… shall immediately jump over to see…

  3. I hope you get a lot of use from our chain saw. It was nice of your neighbor to give you tips on using it. Many years ago I cut up my own firewood using a chain saw. I've moved since then so I get my wood delivered after it has been cut to size.Thank you for visiting my site. To answer your question, in this house we have an open fireplace with a built-in blower.

  4. Hi Professor! Sorry have been late in coming over. Very nice new look! Will come back to catch up. In the meantime, best wishes for a happy and healthy new year! Xin nie huat chai!!

  5. lina… thanks for coming by! Likewise, I shall be visiting your blog… George… how nice it is to have the firewood delivered all cut up… I guess I shall be going about cutting down trees and chopping them up myself… perhaps I may have the wood delivered as you do now when my energies run out… So, you have an open fireplace…We just had the bricklayers laid down the bricks (to put the stove)for us today… tomorrow, they will start building the chimmney…Icy BC… I shall have to be very careful with the chainsaw… thanks for visiting… I shall be coming by your blog too…Happy… how are you? Shall be catching up with your blog as well…Likewise, best wishes for a happy and healthy new year! Xin nie huat chai!!!unkaleong… would be nice to cut the trees for your bike path… only thing is, I need to transport the logs back to Japan… Kong Hee Fatt Choy to you too!

Thank you for visiting!
